A new Van der Valk in the heart of Spa

From 1 May 2024, the Radisson Blu Spa Hotel will become the Van der Valk Spa Hotel, marking a new chapter in its history. This change of name comes exactly 20 years after the creation of the Radisson, marking a significant transition for this emblematic establishment. The acquisition of this new establishment brings the number of Van der Valk hotels in Wallonia to 9.
The Van der Valk group has a clear ambition: to make the new establishment a benchmark for both international customers and Spa residents. By opening up to local customers, the hotel aims to offer Spaniards an authentic experience, with a special Van der Valk touch.

One of the highlights of this new direction is the transformation of the hotel’s restaurant into a real place of life for the Spa community. Under the leadership of new chef Sandrine Van Genechten (formerly chef of the well-known Bistro d’Ethan), the hotel restaurant will offer two distinct concepts: a refined restaurant menu and an all-day brasserie menu. Among the new features, guests will also be able to enjoy a lunchtime menu every weekday, and a Sunday brunch.

In addition to these culinary changes, the hotel is planning some major refurbishments. The restaurant space will be completely redesigned to accommodate more guests and offer an even more pleasant experience. In addition, all the bathrooms in the rooms will be completely refurbished, guaranteeing optimum comfort for our guests.
The Van der Valk Spa Hotel is committed to providing an unforgettable experience for its guests, combining quality, comfort and friendliness. We look forward to welcoming our guests to this new establishment and showing them all it has to offer.

“We are honoured by this new acquisition and look forward to injecting our energy into the heart of the already bustling city of Spa,” said Marco Wohrmann, Van der Valk’s manager for the Province of Liège.
“We are determined to open our doors to a family clientele, an essential value within the Van der Valk hotel chain. Our establishment will be a friendly place where everyone will feel at home,” added Anne-Sophie Wohrmann, Van der Valk manager for the Province of Liège.
