Located in the historic old mill opposite the dairy site of Inex, the well-known dairy company from Bavegem, you will find the Inex Experience Centre. There, the 125-year-old family business not only celebrates its rich history, but this renovated building is also a place where the passion for authentic and local dairy is translated into a culinary experience. The ‘Inex Experience Centre’ is therefore a meeting place where new products are developed, in close cooperation with the company’s partners and customers.
With ‘De Melkerij’, Inex also offers companies and individuals a real event location for a wide range of activities. “The old watermill building is a historic building that dates back to the 13th century and functioned as a grain mill,” Arezina De Koker, event coordinator at Inex, told Olivier Wauters, Executive Director of Eventonline. “De Melkerij is a building that is an integral part of the Inex Experience Centre that is heavily visited by our internal customers. We also organise workshops, seminars and various corporate events there, as well as private events for individuals.”
Four floors
‘De Melkerij’ has four floors where the ground floor, as well as the first and second floors, are used for events.
“The ground floor is ideally suited as a space for large receptions or a dance party for up to 180 people. The first floor is equipped with an open professional kitchen for demonstrations, show cooking and workshops, good for 190 people in walking dinner set-up over the entire floor. However, the floor can be divided into two separate rooms for smaller groups. On the second floor, we can also go up to 120 people inside and 150 on the terrace. On the third floor you will find a small meeting room for up to ten people, but this floor is also used as a loft for wedding couples, for example. After an event, two people can stay overnight there, including breakfast.”
For meetings and seminars with lunch or dinner, ‘De Melkerij’ can accommodate from 20 people. For small meetings, from 2 to 10 people are possible. Of course, the entire building can also be made available.
Geographical location
De Melkerij’ is very easy to reach. It is close to the E40 motorway, about fifteen minutes’ drive from the Wetteren and Erpe-Mere exits. De Melkerij’ itself has six parking spaces, but a one-minute walk away is the private car park of Inex, with some 200 spaces, which is of course also available.
Catering
“We work with five regular partners for catering,” states the event coordinator. “We also have a fixed partner for furniture, as everything is rented out as shells, as well as a partner for light and sound. For companies, we also offer an all-in package. So we can unburden them.”
Look & Feel
‘De Melkerij’ and the Inex Experience Centre have an industrial character with a touch of authenticity from the old mill that also stands there. The whole comprises versatile spaces that guarantee a wide range of possibilities. Moreover, the open garden offers numerous opportunities when organising an event in ‘De Melkerij’.
