Main purpose of the role
The role of the group sales curator is assisting to manage all aspects of the Groups department. Maximise the profitability of groups operations through effective cost controls and supplier negotiation. Maintain consistent standards of service, ensuring guest satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports organisational values.
Essential duties & responsibilities – (key activities)
- Answering inquiries by phone and e-mail in consultation with the Revenue and Proactive sales department
- Negotiating from quoting to final contract preparation
- Organising, planning, and selling groups with an eye for detail by creating function sheets, processing, and input of name lists
- Being aware of al the business in the Belgium Pentahotels – group departures-arrival and ensure proactive planning take place to ensure guests expectations are met
- Keeping the leads accurate and relevant in our system Opera to extract reports for measurement of opportunities and progress
- Coordinating all the teams involved, accompany each group, and draw an instructive conclusion at the end.
- Identifying, communicating, and actioning all sales leads.
- Creating an environment where staff are encouraged to maximise sales.
- Being aware of potential highs and lows in the business and planning for them.
- Meeting all group organisers to check the details of the function for that day and to communicate any changes to the departments – where applicable
- Develop a sales plan for groups in line with annual budget.
- Ensuring all costs is controlled without compromising standards and service delivery.
- Ensuring that security measures and procedures are in place

- Writing of client proposals
- Receptive sales on group requests
- Attending internal meetings representing the sales office where required

- Minimum 3 years work experience in a proactive sales position
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office
- Relevant knowledge of industry specific tools available in the marketplace
Experience
- Relevant experience in hotel industry.

- Revenue, occupancy, rates and revpar in all group segments against budget, forecast and prior year
