To open up the Scandinavian Market

Tania De Grave from Scancoming Benelux visited the destination booth of VISITFLANDERS. Tania De Grave is Managing Director of the DMC company she acquired late last year. “Scancoming was originally founded in the 70s by a Finnish businessman in London who then expanded his company with offices in Paris, Dublin and eventually Brussels in 2000. Afterwards, two more branch offices were opened in Spain, one in Barcelona and one in Malaga. As the founder retired, there was a management buyout. I was the last to take over Scancoming Benelux and that was around the end of last year”, Tania De Grave explains.

Scancoming covers the entire Benelux for DMC activities but works mainly with clients from Scandinavia. B2B only, with all major tour operators, travel agents in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. “We bring people to the Benelux”, says Tania De Grave. “Since we are based in Brussels, about 85% of our business is in Belgium and a large piece of it also takes place in Brussels.”

For Scancoming IMEX also is hosted at the right time. “I do notice that the business slowly gets going again after this re-set. This morning, however, I received a new request for Brussels”, the satisfied Managing Director says who also has the ambition to open up the Scandinavian market and is looking at other markets as well, such as Australia, Canada and the United States. “We want to bring more business to the Netherlands as well”, adds Tania De Grave, who has already worked with all the hotels present at the booth of VISITFLANDERS. “It’s certainly interesting to be present at this fair and to drop by this destination booth.”
